C.T. CAB - CONTROL UPGRADE FOR PINES & OTHER
SEMI-AUTOMATIC HYDRAULIC ROTARY BENDER
Upgrade Includes:
Electrical:
- For “Digital & PLC” style machines, we remove the existing control stand and
wire harness, then add a terminal strip into the existing junction box for
connection of the new control quick-disconnect, and mount and wire in the new
quick-disconnect to the existing junction box (The original control stand for
your machine will be removed completely and discarded.)
- For “9 Button Turret Stop” style machines, we remove the existing control stand,
control stand cable, and relays from the stand alone junction box, then mount
and wire in the new quick-disconnect to the existing stand alone junction box.
The decel valve switch is removed and the decel valve will now be controlled by
the new control. (The original control stand for your machine will be removed
completely and discarded.)
- As an optional feature for the “9 Button Turret Stop” style machines, we can
remove the stand alone junction box entirely and install a new machine mounted 8
x 20 x 20 junction box with main power disconnect, new terminal strips,
necessary wire-way changes, wire routing and connection changes, and transfer of
required components from the stand alone box into the new junction box (The
original stand alone junction box for your machine along with the control stand
will be removed completely and discarded.)
- For Pines Model 3T & 5T vertical benders, we remove the existing control stand,
control stand cable, and relays from the junction box, then mount and wire in
the new quick-disconnect to the existing j-box. The turret stop assembly is also
removed if so equipped. A heavy duty Quadrature encoder is mounted on the back
of one of the wing die shafts to monitor bend position and degree of bend is
achieved through the addition of a proportional valve to control the ram
cylinder flow along with signals sent by the new control. The “Programmable Bend
Speed for Ram” option must be purchased for this upgrade. (The original control
stand for your Pines machine will be removed completely and discarded.)
Mechanical:
- We add a heavy duty Quadrature encoder with mounting bracket under the machine
nose which reads directly off of the spindle for superior accuracy of bend
- For “Turret Stop” style machines, the turret stop is removed and the over travel
switch is repositioned to be triggered by the existing turret actuator bar
connected to the bend chain
- For vertical style benders, we add an encoder bracket behind one of the wing die
shafts and “piggyback” a proportional valve to the existing manifold to control
the operation of the ram cylinder. The guard for the back of the wing die is
altered or replaced if interference is caused by the encoder set-up.
- For horizontal rotary benders, you will require a device to hold the part being
bent in the tooling until the operator can activate the dual finger button
control. ADM offers a well designed “Air Clamp” option which will hold the part
under safe air pressure until the bender hydraulic clamp arm overtakes the
device. This unit comes as a packaged assembly with all the necessary control
wiring, air valve, air FRL, air cylinder with fittings & flow controls, linear
bearings, and clamp die tooling half round. The unit replaces your current clamp
die assembly and the new control is equipped to operate this feature.
Control Features:
Current Tech “Control-A-Bend” Control
- Programmable bend angles
- Automatic spring back
calculator; Quicker set-ups & less scrap
- Programmable to .1 degree; Improves bend angle
accuracy
- Stores 1000 parts with up to 14 bends each; Instant
job recall
- Production counter displays “quantity bent”; Keeps
track for you
- Alphanumeric display; Plain English menus prompt the operator for part numbers
and angles, displays programmed values, production count, and actual bend arm
position “on the fly”
- Heavy duty, sealed, 3600 line count, Quadrature encoder; Withstands machine
vibrations and is protected from oil
- Remote operator control stand with touch
sensitive buttons for machine activation safety (along with dual finger push
buttons for automatic cycle; air clamp is used to hold piece prior to cycle)
- Quick-disconnect style connector; Easy installation and removal of control
pedestal from bender
- Very in depth operations and maintenance manual included
- Manual and automatic modes supported; Increases performance
- Programmable deceleration for C-axis degree of bend accuracy
- Supports optional bend speed controlled thru proportional valve
- Early mandrel extract option; Reduces mandrel marks on tube
- Optional programmable PDA boost; Allows you to boost in “stages”
- Over travel protection switch trip tied into control features
- 2 year warranty on control; Best support in the industry!
